Funkverband ist richtig gut. Das war schon immer so. In den letzten Jahren sind sie allerdings noch besser geworden. Das hängt wahrscheinlich mit ihrer entspannten Herangehensweise an Musik zusammen. Alles kann, nichts muss. Oder eher „fast alles kann, einiges muss“. Irgendwie ist schon immer Funk im klassischen Sinne dabei. Es geht aber auch um Soul, Gefühl, in den letzten Jahren mehr und mehr um Crossoverelemente wie zu frühen Red Hot Chili Peppers Zeiten. Nicht dass alle Bandmitglieder diese Zeiten erlebt hätten, aber einige schon. Bei Konzerten ist Funkverband immer sofort erkennbar. Man könnte sie nie mit anderen verwechseln. Man kann und soll die Texte verstehen, die deutsch sind und wichtig. Es wird gezappelt oder zugehört, oder beides. Die Besetzung ist klassisch: Prägnante Stimmen, knarzige Orgel, Gitarre mit allem, was dazugehört, Bass und Schlagzeug grooven wie es sein soll.

Als Drummer der legendären New Yorker Band „Defunkt“ hat Kenny Martin Musikgeschichte geschrieben. Gearbeitet hat er mit Parliament, Peter Fox und unzähligen mehr. Schon 1992 gründete er mit Andy Reimer und Heinrich Carstens die Band LTT und füllte Konzertsäle, dann pausierte die Band für viele Jahre.
Die Reunion 2026 mit einer hochkarätigen Besetzung der Band „LTT-License To Thrill“ wird der Schlagzeuger nun wieder für viel Aufmerksamkeit sorgen. Mit LTT kommt der urbane New York Funk nach Berlin in die Junction Bar zum (Wieder)Auftaktkonzert.
Mit einer außergewöhnlichen Mischung aus P-Funk, harten New York Grooves und Funk, sowie einer extravaganten internationalen 9 Piece Besetzung aus Rap, SoulVocals und Horns, wird Kenny Martin’s License To Thrill nicht nur Kenner, sondern auch die junge Szene mitreißen.
